A top-tier law firm is seeking a strategic and experienced Conflicts Manager to lead their Conflicts Department. This is a high-impact role ideal for a legal professional who thrives at the intersection of compliance, ethics, and operational leadership. You'll be the firm's go-to authority on conflicts resolution, process oversight, and team development-working closely with attorneys, Conflicts Partners, and firm leadership to ensure seamless new business intake and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the full lifecycle of conflicts and new matter intake processes
  • Lead the review and resolution of complex conflict checks for new matters, laterals, and RFPs
  • Collaborate with Conflicts Partners to ensure alignment with firm goals and compliance standards
  • Guide the drafting and review of engagement letters and conflict waivers
  • Act as the escalation point for potential conflicts and collaborate with attorneys on resolution
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of Conflicts and New Business Intake Analysts
  • Develop workflows, monitor performance, and continuously improve operational efficiency
  • Drive department projects and process improvements as needed

What You Bring:

  • J.D. degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting legal conflict checks
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Expertise in legal ethics, conflicts policies, and client intake systems
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining top-tier accuracy
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • Experience with Aderant and Intapp is a plus
